My heart

Last night I had a conversation with my heart
I told it not fall in love for awhile
For some girl will appear and show a smile
Then with fake nails ruthlessly tear it apart

I told it that some dreams are grand illusions
And that tears do not have to precede a smile
A girl will cause it to fall and slide
And tears will only help to bring more confusion

Some girls will write you love letters in a pile
You’ll be hooked, smiling, cooking meaty dinner
while she eats carrots all day getting thinner
Thereafter she leaves dragging your heart for a mile

I taught my heart to look for a girl with virtue
Eyes that show a slight hint of interest
For the love must stand trials and tests
To prove if that is a girl that has value

If she cries do not be washed away by her tears
Stand true to what your heart is telling you
Looks can be deceiving and lust may ensue
In the end it will be the sum of all your fears

I warned my heart about girls that party alot
I said some girls are living in sand castles
The integrity within em cannot fit in a parcel
For they will not be able to hold down a fort

I took a serious tone with my heart right through
And told it straight up that love takes time
That loving her wholeheartedly is not a crime
But a girl that is not your gal can never be true

After saying all these things to my heart
I laid my head down to rest for the night
I woke up to find a note under the light
Saying , I’m the gal who just stole your heart
